Having been formed in 1986 by Cenk Ünnü and Hakan Utangaç and starting the gigs in 1987 by the time Tarkan Gözübüyük has joined the band, Pentagram has toiled in their native Turkey for years, releasing two albums in the early nineties. But their third album, Anatolia, is garnering worldwide acclaim for the band, and deservedly so. Their first album carrying the band's name has generated a lot of echo in the underground market, thus inspiring many Turkish bands formed during the era concerned. The band has published their second album Trail Blazers in 1992 after signing to the German Nuclear Blast, having two new members Demir Demirkan and Ogün Sanlýsoy. Afterwards they published their third album Anatolia. Anatolia is a mature, polished, straight-ahead metal album, often American in its style, but also containing noticeable Turkish melodies. The band's music happens to remind Queensryche and Megadeth. A very well-done album, and hopefully a precursor to future greatness. Their live album Popçular Dýþarý (which stands for "Poppers out") has been released in 1998 containing their live records reflecting the concert atmosphere perfectly. Another outstanding point about the band is that they've recorded their albums in the world-famous Sydney301 studios in Australia. The band has recently signed to Noise Records and changed their name into Mezarkabul which can be roughly translated as "Admission To The Grave".
